What’s the Site About?
I read a lot. And occassionally I have something to say about what I read. Some folks ask me where I get my info from, or how I read so many things. I’ll write about that sometime (but there’s no mystery in aggregator tools like Feedly and WordPress.com Reader), but for now this is where I can just easily comment on and share stuff I’m reading.
I’d love to see conversations popup from these posts — but, it’s not really necessary.
Who am I?
I’m a lot of things to a lot of different people. But here’s how I describe myself of late:
I’m a lover of all things that make us better. Politics, Religion, History, Technology — they all play an important role in my life and have cross-over. Cross-over is where all the important and life-giving things happen. Live in the cross-over with me.
Education
I have a smattering of different degrees — which really just means I learned a ton of things that inform who I am today. But just since you’re obviously interested, here’s the laundry list:
- B.A. in Music Education (1999)
Point Loma Nazarene University - M.A. in Theology (2002)
Fuller Theological Seminary - M.A. in History (2014)
San Diego State University
Occupation
I’m currently Head of Support and Brand Ambassador at WordImpress.com. We make premium plugins for WordPress. I’m also Lead Organizer at our local San Diego Advanced WordPress Meetup and one of more than 25 admins of the Advanced WordPress Facebook group which currently boasts more than 17,000 members world-wide.
I started working in WordPress in roughly 2011 as a freelance web developer. I liked it because of how it fires all sides of your brain — both technical and creative. But I fell in love with the community that surrounds WordPress.
